April’s Meeting Notes
In the April meeting Tom Witkowski Jr presented the financial report for the Bowling fundraiser. It was very successful with an income over $20,000. We received a donation request from a family for funds towards a special trike for their developmentally disabled son. The Caravan approved the donation contingent upon
speaking with the family. VGC Gary DeCarlo will follow up with them.
2011 Dues
The 2011 Dues notices were sent out by SE Brad Stieber in January. The Caravan has already paid the per capita on every member of the Caravan, so we appreciate everyone paying their dues in a timely manner. If you need extra time or would like to pay in installments, just let us know and we can work something out.
Message from the Grand Commander
The 2011 Class of Sir Nobles was initiated into the Caravan on April 16th. Our Sir Nobles bravely crossed the hot sands became full members into our Order. We are pleased to add Sir Nobles Hank Goetz, Adam Jablonski, Joshua Jablonski, Ron Sanford, Dan Tomasko, Dave Tomasko and Leonard Zarzecki. Vice Grand Commander
Gary DeCarlo and Grand Chamberlain (PGC) Ronald Osinski did a great job bringing in new members. We are especially proud to have SN Adam and Josh Jablonski join their father, SN Joe ‘Yabo’ Jablonski, as members.
PGC Mike Leon was honored by Galicia Caravan at the Ceremonial Ball for his years of service to the Alhambra and his participation in the Ceremonial run for many years. We have to remember that membership is a critical to the health of the Caravan and the Order, and adding members has to be a priority every year. The Bi-annual Convention is coming up in July in Detroit and there are 27 proposals for changes to the Al Sunna, the bylaws of the Order. Details about the proposals will be coming out in the next Alhambran. Talk to me or VGC Gary DeCarlo if you have thoughts or concerns about the proposals, we will be voting on them. The Convention is a great time to meet Sir Nobles from around the country. All the information to attend is in the Alhambran and on the website at alhambraconvention.com. We also need volunteers to help bartend, pick people up from the airport, man the information booth, etc. Please let me know if you can help out. The Michigan Council of Caravans will be Roasting Gary DeCarlo to benefit the Council of Caravans. We have to have a big turnout for our VGC. Please attend if you can, more information available at sanchocaravan.org/roast. Let me know if you plan on coming to the roast so we can organize the Sancho tables.
Lastly – check out the new Sancho website – sanchocaravan.org!
